PETER has always been a perfectionist, striving to be taken seriously. For the past almost five years, he has been dating JENNY, and especially since graduation, he has felt like everything is falling into place: He has an amazing girlfriend, an amazing career, and amazing plans for the future (which he assumes JENNY shares).

JENNY is a kind and supportive recent college graduate who has been dating PETER for almost five years. After being overlooked in male-dominated science classes throughout her education, she has proven herself to be a vital member of her community, and, in fact, to carry everyone else on her shoulders. She lets her work speak for itself — but sometimes that means she doesn’t voice her own concerns.

SKYLER is a career jazz pianist content to pursue his musical dreams with or without fame. His laid-back nature is tested when PETER accuses him of stealing the suitcase, among other things.

JOANNE is starting fresh on the first day of a new job as a flight attendant. Although she is well-intentioned, her clumsiness combined with her determination to seem competent causes trouble on board.

MARY and CARRIE are veteran flight attendants who love to gossip. While CARRIE is (slightly) more empathetic than her partner in crime, MARY has little patience for JOANNE’s rookie mistakes because she hopes to snag an upcoming promotion. Their playfully sadistic approach to their work leaves passengers a bit unsettled.

EDWARD is a local politician who can’t quite separate his job from the rest of his life. Over the course of the investigation, he develops a bond with PETER and thus plays a crucial role in encouraging his antics.

SOPHIE is undoubtedly a driven seventeen-year-old, but she remains frustrated by her lack of a specific direction, which also dismays her father KEN. Because she is unsure of where she is going in life, it is all the more difficult to explain why she is firmly against the idea of going to business school.

KEN has high hopes for his daughter SOPHIE and desperately wants her to continue on the path he has planned for her. However, his inability to understand his daughter’s need to explore causes a rift between the pair.

ELVIS is several decades past her time at Woodstock but she hasn’t lost her passion for peace, love, and understanding. Although viewed by other passengers as eccentric, she dispenses wisdom if given the chance.

MONICA is often times the one who bring the rest of the characters back to reality. Though caring and helpful, she does not have the patience for the nonsense of the trip, especially when her children ZACH and LEXIE are involved.
