City of Peace

The City of Peace team would like to sincerely thank each actor who auditioned for the show—each of you presented a unique and exciting opportunity for us to see an original musical come to life!

City of Peace will begin rehearsals next week and continue through a residency in the Agassiz theater, which will start on Monday, November 17. Performances will run from Thursday, December 4, to Sunday, December 7, and the strike will occur on December 7 as well. The exact show dates are below:

Thursday, December 4 at 7:30 PM
Friday, December 5 at 7:30 PM
Saturday, December 6 at 2:30 PM
Saturday, December 6 at 7:30 PM
Sunday, December 7 at 2:30 PM

If possible, please keep next Friday (9/19) free from 8 to 11 pm for a whole cast read-through.

Due to overlapping residencies, we cannot share actors with The Glass Menagerie. If you wish to sign on to more than one show, please get in touch with the stage managers of both shows before signing.

A student of philosophy from Bratsky Monastery. Despite being very devout, he is in the midst of a crisis of faith that he hopes can be resolved through pious acts.

A student of theology and Khoma’s peer from Bratsky Monastery. He is somewhat absurd and not very devout. He wants to go on summer vacation.

The elder daughter of the Sotnyk. Tired of the constant neglect and disregard from her father, she creates an elaborate plot to murder him.

The younger daughter of the Sotnyk. She is considered to be a witch by the residents of the town. After being murdered by Khoma, her corpse haunts the village, tormenting the residents with her supernatural powers.

The father of Pul’kheriia and the Vid’ma and the leader of the village. He despises Pul’kheriia and refuses to acknowledge the Vid’ma’s past wrongdoing.
