First Year Musical: Starville

Thank you all so much for spending the past week with us at prelims, dance call and callbacks! It was such a joy to have you, and we were incredibly impressed with all of the wonderful work we witnessed.

“Starville: The 30th First Year Musical” will be in residency in the Agassiz Theater from March 31st- April 13th. For those who are cast, more information regarding times and locations, as well as a rehearsal schedule, will be emailed to you.

To everyone not listed below or listed as an alternate, CONGRATULATIONS!!! You are automatically a part of our amazing ensemble (even if you were unavailable for the dance call!), and we are looking forward to having you be a part of this unique first-year experience :-) We will also be reaching out to you soon via email. If you no longer wish to commit to this musical, please contact our SM Marianne ASAP.

Note for those deliberating between multiple casting decisions: due to overlapping residencies, we cannot share actors with Jesus Christ Superstar and SKETCH!

MILO is an average delivery man who, after finding out his highschool girlfriend has returned to Starville, embarks on a personal journey of finding himself. Milo is an awkward, quirky, less than mediocre guy who is desperate to be seen as successful. He is not the strongest, nor the most special, and is constantly overlooked due to his awkward confidence.

Lilah (Delilah)

LILAH (DELILAH) is a brilliant, intelligent engineer who went to Stanford and is an accomplished scientist. She thinks she is intellectually and socially above normal people but is graceful and not arrogant. She strives to improve Starville and wants to use her technological knowledge for the greater good.

RICHARD WESTWOOD is a very wealthy billionaire who is selfish and arrogant. Self centered and believes himself to be the most attractive and charismatic person in the world. He is a flirt and loves to romantically connect with people. He is rich, spoiled, and very very charismatic.

HERBERT is Milo’s mail service helper. A fun comic relief, he is not the brightest, but nonetheless lovable.

DOVE EVERDEEN is a spiritual hippie woman who prioritizes her holistic spirituality above everything else. She is naive, constantly dissociating, and is blissfully in love.

ETHAN SMITH is a Catholic Runaway who is trying to find himself. He is closested gay individual who is naive about his sexuality. He is “in love” with Dove and follows her everywhere.

NovaCorp CEO

NOVACORP CEO, the head of NovaCorp Enterprises, is an alien who started out curious about humanity but, after being incredibly disappointed, reveals they want to take over Earth. Their earthly figure is very old and stern, exuding an aura of mystery and power.

MAYOR LOVEWELL is the mayor of Starville Town who is very scandalous, self-centred, and not equipped to be Mayor at all. She is also the host of the talent show.

DIRECTOR TORI is the director for NovaCorps talent show who wants to impress the CEO and make her big break in Hollywood. She is aggressive, witty, and standoffish. She pushes people to their brink and has severe anger issues. She is assertive and her vision will get done regardless of others desires.
