Our finalized cast list is below with information about each character/track. Please read the entirety of this blurb before signing for any role. For anybody interested in joining our staff, please reach out to our exec producer by emailing [email protected] - we'd love to have you!
All actors MUST be free for each of our performances, as well as the mandatory strike on Sunday, April 13. If you have any significant conflicts from March 24-April 12, please reach out to us to discuss these before signing. Our performance dates/times are below:
Wednesday, April 9 at 7:30pm

Please reach out to our stage managers if you have any questions or concerns about the rehearsal timeline and time commitment. Due to overlapping residencies, we are unable to share actors with Songs For A New World, SKETCH!, Arcadia, or the First Year Musical: Starville. If you would like to perform in Gruesome Playground Injuries, be cozy, 9 to 5, or The Old Man and the Old Moon, you must reach out to both shows' stage managers before signing.

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the leader of the disciples, who is struggling with accepting his imminent fate; Jesus is now reimagined as a weary social activist who unites and uplifts the “disciples” despite their differences and constant demands.

Judas Iscariot is the narrator of the show and one of the disciples and has become troubled with Jesus’ treatment as a messiah, taking away from the focus on the people.

Mary Magdalene

Mary Magdalene is one of Jesus’ followers who has shown overwhelming kindness and care for Jesus. In this version, she is there for everyone but has forgotten who she is without helping everyone around her.

Caiaphas

Caiaphas is a high priest, now reimagined as head of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, who sees Jesus as a significant threat to the nation and is fearful of losing power and his position if Jesus' "riots" are not silenced.

Annas is a priest, now a fellow member of the FBI, who is Caiaphas’ right-hand man. He is very cunning and propels inquiries about how to deal with Jesus.

Pontius Pilate

Pontius Pilate is the governor of Judea, now recontextualized as a chief of police, who is foreseeing the crowds' uproar regarding Jesus's actions and is deeply conflicted between his awe and contempt for this activist.

King Herod

King Herod is the King of Galilee reimagined as governor, who is the comedic relief, entertained at first by the antics of Jesus Christ playfully mocking him before the scene takes an intense turn, and Jesus is sent away to be dealt with and reestablish order.

Simon Zealotes is one of the disciples who is a radical member of the cohort with a youthful excitement to fight against the establishment despite knowing little about what he is fighting for or against.

Peter is one of the disciples who appears to be one of the cohort's fiercest and most dedicated members, despite eventually denying knowing Jesus three times.

Younger members of the cohort, who catch all of the seemingly secret happenings, functioning like the Fates; accompany Judas in the number “Superstar” and will serve as backup singers in additional songs
