Thank you to everyone who auditioned for Aida! It's been an amazing week seeing everyone's talent and enthusiasm. We hope you've had as much fun and joy working with us as we have with you!

Aida’s residency is from November 4 - November 17 in the Agassiz Theater. The show times are as listed:

Thursday, Nov. 14 at 7:30pm
Friday, Nov. 15 at 7:30pm
Saturday, Nov. 16 at 2pm
Saturday, Nov. 16 at 7:30pm
Sunday, Nov. 17 at 2pm

If you have an unavoidable conflict during any show time, please reach out immediately.

This production cannot share actors with Romeo and Juliet, Anastasia, or the Hasty Pudding due to overlapping residencies.

If you are cast in Jest the Way You Are or Anthropology, please coordinate with all relevant stage managers due to very close residencies.

After her people are captured, Nubian Princess Aida finds herself entangled in a misadventured romance with Egyptian Captain Radames, who is already betrothed to Amneris, the Pharaoh’s daughter. Throughout the show, Aida grapples with the guilt of putting her life and happiness before the needs of her people.

Egyptian Captain Radames is expected to marry Princess Amneris, but unexpectedly finds a deeper emotional connection in Aida, one of the Nubians he has enslaved. Throughout the show, he learns to take responsibility for his privilege and take immediate action rather than passively accepting and upholding the status quo.

Amneris, daughter of the Pharaoh, has been engaged to Captain Radames since they were children. However, after he starts to neglect her in the days leading up to her wedding, she begins to suspect his heart isn't in it. Once she studies Egypt's conquest of Nubia, she realizes her role in upholding the enslavement of her friends, and becomes determined to use her ascension to end war between Egypt and Nubia.

Mereb is Radames’ personal servant. Throughout the show, he is seen to use his closeness to Radames to aid his fellow Nubians by stealing and selling valuables. His true loyalty is to his people, and he has never given up hope for freedom.

Note: if you've been cast in this role, it is because we believe you would be a very good fit. However, if you are uncomfortable portraying Mereb in traditionally male costuming with maintained he/him pronouns, please email us, and we will support you as needed.

Zoser is the Chief Minister of Egypt. He plots to kill the Pharaoh to expedite his son Radames' ascension to the throne.

The Ensemble will be divided by number. For example, the song "Gods Love Nubia" will feature Black and African American performers, while "Strongest Suit" will primarily feature female-identifying performers. Most people will be in more than one song, and we will workshop as necessary.
