Thank you all so much for spending your week with us at prelims and callbacks! It was such a joy to watch you all rock out, and we were so impressed with all of the incredible work we witnessed this week.

“The Kids are All Right: The 29th First Year Musical” will Perform in the Agassiz Theater from April 11-14. We are hoping to have our first read through on Saturday, February 3rd. For those who are cast, more information regarding times and locations, as well as a rehearsal schedule, will be emailed to you. Our show dates are:

Thursday, April 11th at 7:30pm
Friday, April 12th at 7:30pm
Saturday, April 13th at 2pm
Saturday, April 13th at 7:30pm
Sunday, April 14th at 2pm

Because of overlapping residencies, we cannot share actors with Julius Caesar, Spring Awakening, or Last 5 Years. We can, however, absolutely share actors with Constellations, Spelling Bee, Medea, and Little Shop of Horrors

SAM PARKER is an event planner at River Rocks Hotel & Cabins and is Jamie’s best friend. He is a dreamer who feels trapped and dissatisfied with his office job, longing to find some greater purpose through music, and takes this music retreat as an opportunity to do so.

ADLER ROBINSON is a larger-than-life, snippy, sassy, and sarcastic musician with dreams of making it BIG. He gets so distracted with the work side of their partnership that he forgets to harvest the relationship as well until it’s too late, despite loving Carson deeply.

JULES MORRIS is a hopeful, aspiring 15-year-old Motown-esque young singer and dancer who snuck his way to camp all the way from Louisiana after feeling silenced and discouraged from pursuing his music career at home. Even in his childish antics, there is a wisdom to him that allows him to teach the adults at River Rocks! a thing or two.

RONNIE FALLON is a British Invasion rockstar, definitely not based on a singer whose name rhymes with Vick Swagger… Anyway, Ronnie is the rock star and is much larger than life, always finding a way to make himself the center of the universe when possible.

PRINCESS is a keyboard and guitar player and Viper’s little sister who sneaks into the van to go to camp with Hiss. She is a force to be reckoned with, the most talented of the group, sarcastic, cutthroat even at times, and really holds her own to these immature guys.

DEENA WILSON is a shy secretary turned disco queen from New York City who dreams of being a star. She has a beautiful progression from shy to confident young person and decides to go for it and make her mark on the disco scene, teaming up with Jane, who writes all of Deena’s songs from here on out.

JANE HOPE is an eccentric, quirky, and sometimes nervy former bass player and a current instructor at River Rocks. She, as an aspiring songwriter, searches for new experiences and hopes for something–or someone–exciting to come her way so that she’ll have something real to write about.

BOWIE STEVENS is a former member of the band The Upper Ninths and has come to this music treat to figure out what he wants and decide if he is ready to settle down with his partner, Sheila, or if he wants to go back on tour with the band. He is a genius at his craft, cares a lot about the campers, and is a bit of an asshole at times, but overall, he is a good guy just trying to get his life back on track.

VIPER is the frontman, as well as lead vocalist and guitarist, of the band Hiss, a rock band from Ohio that is a bit scrappy but has potential. He is confident, an instigator, a star, and even at his low moments, just a guy who wants to be taken seriously.

Spinner

SPINNER is Viper’s second in command and is not very happy about it. He is a strong personality–stubborn, fun when he wants to be, somewhat immature at times, and very jealous, yet decides to take the opportunity at camp to prove to the band and to Viper that he can lead the group himself.

FLUFFY is a HUGE jokester and is the bass guitarist for Hiss, who is always there to lighten the group up with a joke or two without fail. There are moments where we see his hilarity wane when he sees his friends fight, but still finds a way to bring some levity to the situation.

Stripes

STRIPES is the drummer and mediator of the group Hiss, often seeing situations for what they are and what’s best for the band. He is effortlessly present and aware of what’s around him and has this natural cool to him that the other members think they have but lack significantly.

SANDRA WATERS is a Barbara Walters-inspired news anchor figure who is a rival anchor to Calder Whitwright. She attempts to be overly perky and remain professional despite being very annoyed with Calder most of the time.

RACHEL ROGERS is the CEO of River Rock Hotel & Cabins. Rachel is no-nonsense, almost to the point of it being laughable, very business-oriented and money-oriented, with a soft spot for Sam and Jamie, and wants them to succeed–but not at the cost of the company.

JORDAN MOON is one of the judges at the camp. A flamboyant British 3-time Grammy award-winning rock opera musician and producer, he is very over the top, with very diva undertones at times, but when impressed, he is genuinely impressed and moved that even he can’t just focus on himself anymore.

CALDER WHITWRIGHT is a Walter Cronkhite-inspired recurring news anchor figure throughout the show. A very much comedic role, with many of his lines being tongue-in-cheek and almost dry, perhaps even borderline ridiculous.

MILEY RICHARDS is a judge at the camp known for her folk-rock style and is also Dani’s idol. She is calm and a free bird in every sense of the word, an open book, very calm and soothing demeanor, almost a flower child type of way about her, but with a bit of an edge as well.

TONI TYLER is one of the judges at the camp, known as the goddess of pop. She is a liberated woman, absolutely stunning, with this heir of absolute beauty and allure, who wants to have fun and is never afraid to share her thoughts.
