Thank you so much to everyone who auditioned for Spelling Bee! We were truly overwhelmed and humbled by your talent and enthusiasm. Casting this show was an extraordinarily difficult process - we wish we could’ve cast everybody who auditioned, and we really appreciate the time and effort you poured into this past week.

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee will have performances in the Loeb Ex from February 29-March 8, with mandatory strike after the closing show on March 8. Our show dates and times are below; please note that there will be two weekends of performances. Please also note that Friday, March 8 is the day before Spring Break - you must still be in town on this Friday to participate in this show.

Friday, March 8 at 8pm

As our rehearsal process will be on a very shortened timeline, our rehearsal process will be somewhat intensive. Rehearsals will begin with a readthrough this Wednesday, January 31, after 6pm, then continue through March 8. Please keep your schedule free for this readthrough, and watch for an email with an onboarding form so that rehearsals can be scheduled as soon as possible. If you’re concerned about your time commitments, please reach out to the stage managers for more information. Although our residency timeline doesn’t overlap with any other shows using Common Casting, due to our rehearsal process we will be unable to share most actors with Spring Awakening. If you wish to perform in any other show in addition to Spelling Bee, you MUST reach out to the stage managers and directors of both shows before you can sign for either.

Because this show takes place in the Loeb Drama Center, all actors MUST read the TECH REQ REQUIREMENTS and SIGN UP FOR A TECH REQ at this link: go.hrdctheater.org/s24techreqs before signing for a role.
